License Renewal Tied to Training
Licensed media entities and intermediaries must provide bi-annual in-house training on misinformation and disinformation, with license renewal denied if two years of training are not completed. This creates substantial ongoing operational costs and administrative burden, particularly for smaller organizations. Combined with requirements for fact-checking departments (82), annual risk assessments (81), and algorithm audits, the cumulative compliance regime significantly increases the cost of doing business in Ghana's media sector and could force smaller players out of the market.
